This study was conducted to see the comparison of teachers’
classroom practices and students learning in public and private TVET institutes
in Punjab. Main objectives of the study were: to compare the teacher’s
classroom practices in public and private TVET institutions in Punjab; to find
out the difference of students learning in public and private TVET institutions
in Punjab. As the data was collected from a
wide area and through questionnaire, so the study was descriptive in nature and
survey in type. The population of the study was the public and private TVET
institutes in Punjab. The population was wide and further
subdivided into target population and accessible population. In which 389 TEVTA
and 312 PVTC public and 1214 private institutes (according to N.S.I.S) of
Punjab province were the Target population of this study. Lahore district in
Punjab was selected for collecting data from these public and private TVET
institutes. Then 28 TEVTA and 10 PVTC Public institutes and 122 Private
institutes in Lahore were the accessible population of this study. Then ten (10)
public and ten (10) private institutes were selected from this accessible
population. After that twenty (20) students were selected randomly from each
public and private TVET institutes. The positivism paradigm and quantitative
approach of the study was used for this research. The instrument used for
research was ‘structured’ close ended questionnaire. The questionnaire was
consisted on both English and Urdu language according to the qualification of
student. That consists of 38 statements and rooted on five point Likert scale.
Each statement invited responses on five options i.e. strongly disagree,
disagree, uncertain, agree, strongly agree. Reliability coefficient of the
instrument was found (.93). The rate of return was 100%. The instrument of data
collection was developed and validate by the help of other qualified teachers
and expertise opinion. The data was collected by researcher himself and by facilitator.
Different institute teachers were also provide help in collecting data from
their students. The data was analysed by using SPSS. Descriptive statistics and
Independent sample t-test was applied to compare the teaching practices and
students learning in public and private TVET institutes in Punjab. After that
the result was find out by comparing the responses of both public and private
institutes students with the help of SPSS statistics.
