Question: both genders, women were the most famous

Question: “Explain Classical Greek religion.” Over time, the Greeks have personified the gods and nature. They constructed myths based on the gods and their relationships with others. When the time came for there to be a leader among the gods, Zeus stepped up to the job. Zeus’s court had many siblings and kin. His court also included deities with many responsibilities. The exact date of when Greek religion began is unknown, but scientists can prove that it influenced many other cultures. Religion in Greece is called the “singular swing to elevation,” referring to the history of the human spirit. This also refers to the long road of human savagery, leading up to a dim world. The creators of the Greek religion, poets, artists, and philosophers, all agreed on this statement of human history. They believed that the religion shouldn’t have any Sacred Books. They also did not know what orthodoxy was. One person who helped shape new foundations and changes in the Greek religion was Socrates. Socrates was a very famous Greek philosopher. He lived from 469-399 B.C. He believed that it was more important to study the soul and mind than the world around humans. He also taught people that government should be entrusted to wise men who see the good in the world. A quote by Socrates is “No one is willingly deprived of the good.”In the Greek religion, there were a few religious cults. Cults are a group of people who believe in something. Myths and stories gave a foundation to help grow a religious cult. Each cult had an elaborate set of rituals. Cults also provided a sense of powerfulness to the community outside of the cult. There were some religious cults that only gave allowed in women. A specific religious cult was the cult of Dionysus. Dionysus was the Greek god of wine and partying. Though the cult allowed both genders, women were the most famous followers. The cult would have wild celebrations and dance around in the spring. Like other cults, Dionysus’s cult became more restrained. In the 5th century B.C. though, the cult flourished.
