The education needed is an associate of science in dental assisting or a bachelor of science hygienist. You will make around 35,000 dollars a year with this job. What a Dental assistant does. Advantages are not a lot of schooling, and a job continuing to grow. Disadvantages are that you don’t get paid that well. My 4 year job is an occupational therapist. Occupational therapists treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop, recover, improve, as well as maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. The pay for Occupational therapists is $81,910 per year. The typical entry level educations is a Masters degree. The rate this job is growing at is 21% which is must faster than average. Test needed to become certified NBCOT certification allows therapists to use the title of Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR). You’ll also take continuing education classes to maintain your certification over time. All states require occupational therapists to become licensed. To earn your license you’ll need a degree from an accredited program and your NBCOT certification. The cost of this test will be around $500. Due to the rapid development of genetic technologies and the expanding need for genetic counselors, genetic counselors can be employed in a variety of settings. Many counselors work in the clinic providing face to face counseling to families and some provide counseling on the phone or video conferencing. Other counselors work in the clinical labs that provide genetic testing, writing and interpreting test results and answering questions for physicians, other genetic counselors, and patients. Roles that genetic counselors take on are constantly expanding. Other examples of settings genetic counselors may work include: government, education, industry, and research. Genetic counselors typically receive a bachelor’s degree in biology, social science or a related field, and then go on to receive specialized training.  Master’s degrees in genetic counseling are offered by programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling. There are approximately 40 school in the US and Canada that offer Genetic Counseling training. The salary for genetic counseling has a very wide variety of salary depending on where you are working.
