India limited communication among the citizens. Everyone

India is located in South
Asia. In terms of size, the country ranks seventh in the whole world. It has a
population of more than 1.2 billion people making it the 2nd most
populated nation. The democratic system of India is also very populous. The
country is surrounded by the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean, and the Bay of Bengal
on the southwest, south, and southeast respectively. Its borders include
Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Despite having abundant
humans and land resources, India is considered a developing country and or
nation. In this text, I will explore multiple reasons as to why the world’s
biggest democracy is still developing after 66 years of independence.

Several reasons explain why
India has not yet obtained the status of a developed country. Firstly, there is
the issue of corruption and misdirection of funds. Corruption remains to be the
leading cause of India’s development problems. This problem has continued for
several years, and it keeps getting worse. Corruption tends to affect the
economy through increasing the transaction cost. It also results in the
inefficient provision of services, especially in the health sector. Foreign investors
are becoming less interested in conducting businesses in the country. As long
as workers in both private and public sector keep tolerating corruption, the
economy will keep lagging behind.

The second reason is the
ever-increasing population of India. The country is the second most populated
in the world, and the population figures keep increasing. An increasing
population requires the resources also to be increasing at the same speed. For
India’s case, the resources distribution among the population is not properly
done. This leaves most people with limited or no resources. The high population
also means that there are several irresponsible Indians whose work is to
disorganize other people. Third, the people of India lack unity among
themselves. It is well-known that a united nation is a strong nation. Indians
are divided along linguistic lines. The various languages in the country have
limited communication among the citizens. Everyone seems to mind their own
business. With such attitudes, Indians are unable to solve common problems.
India greatly suffers from income inequality among its people. The rich in
India get richer whereas the poor becomes poorer. There are several people in
the country who are living below the poverty line. Such people are not given a
special attention that they require. Even when such opportunities present
themselves, the middlemen take advantage of it. This leaves the poor people
with nothing to support themselves. There are families that are unable to
afford one meal per day. This is because they lack the necessary finances to do
so. As long as corruption remains an issue in the country, the gap between the
rich and the poor will continue to widen and expand

The third reason is the
unemployment of the population in India. This major issue and problem is caused
by what I just talked about, the ever-increasing population of India. The
unemployment of people in India has risen in percentage, and it keeps rising
and rising higher than ever before. Generating jobs and employment for a vast
population in a country like India is very problematic and tough. The numbers
of uneducated people in India increases every single year. We’ll just have to
see how this issue resolves itself, but I don’t think it ever will due to the
large portions of people coming in to the country.

Lastly, the degree of
cleanliness in the country amounts to zero. People, especially in the rural
areas, urinate by the roadside. The habit of throwing garbage by the roadside
is also common in both rural and urban areas. This makes it possible to find
garbage littering several parts of the country. The lack of cleanliness has
attracted several flies and mosquitoes in the different towns. These insects
end up causing major health problems to the citizens. The government’s actions
against such habits are not sufficient enough to stop them.

In conclusion, India is a
great country that is capable of developing within a short period of time. The
country has enough people and land resources that can easily create wealth. To
join the list of developed countries, the different sectors of the country must
perform their roles well. The citizens must also understand their
responsibilities in moving the country forward.
