I a very important figure to landscape

have decided to do my Museum visit report on the painting called
Morning Effect by Theodore Rousseau. He is also known as Étienne
Pierre Théodore Rousseau, he was a french painter born on April 15,
1812, in Paris, France. Rousseau was a pioneer and was also a leader
of the Barbizon school of landscape painters. He became a very
important figure to landscape painting, he began painting landscapes
and outdoorsy nature when he was only fourteen years old. He realized
his love for nature and began to express it through his landscape
paintings although his father initially positioned him to study
business but his journey to the Jura region of France changed his
destiny. This location inspired him and his urge to paint landscapes
and nature.

his journey he met a fellow passenger named Lemaire who happened to
be a sculptor. Rousseau learned from him the ways in which artists
perceive nature and the objects around them. Upon his return, his
parents decided to support his ambitions by sending him to the studio
of Joseph Rémond in 1826. After he had spent several months in the
Auvergne region in 1830, he had his first successful submission to
the Salon in 1831 with Site at Auvergne, a studio painting
that he completed based on his many studies of the landscape.

Rousseau’s oil on canvas painting called morning effect exhibited to
much acclaim at the Salman in 1850 to 1851. The morning sun created a
considerable silhouette of the landscaping and the fisherman, the
fisherman appeared to be leaving with his catch of the morning. At
the center of the canvas between an untamed area of the forest at
left and a cultivated pasture with grazing sheep at the right, the
fisherman incorporates peacefully and naturally into the
conscientious executed
rural setting.

the artist Theodore Rousseau was trying portray was his absolute love
of nature and landscapes. He became extremely infatuated with
landscaping and nature ever since he was a child, all of his
masterpieces and artwork were inspired by the landscaping of nature.
“The beautiful is in nature, and it is encountered under the most
diverse forms of reality. Once it is found it belongs to art, or
rather to the artist who discovers it.” – Gustave Courbet. His
masterpiece Morning effect has been moved from the Getty Center
Museum in Los Angeles to the Norton Simon museum in Pasadena. It
seemed that his artwork did not lose any value, people still looked
and admired it the same way as they did when it was at the Getty
center Museum. The style that Rousseau used on his paintings was
realism. Realism is the attempt to represent subject matter
truthfully, without artificiality and avoiding artistic conventions,
implausible, exotic and supernatural elements.

was an art movement that began in France in the 1850s, after the
American Revolution. Realists rejected Romanticism, which had
dominated French literature and art since the late 18th century. The
art movement that was going on at the time Morning Effect was painted
was the Romanticism art movement. The gloomy nature of the painting
was influenced by the Romanticism art movement. Romanticism was an
artistic, literary, musical and intellectual movement that originated
in Europe toward the end of the 18th century. In Theodore Rousseau’s
paintings, he used a typical canvas with oil paints.

chose this painting because I felt like it spoke to me more than any
of the other paintings I’ve seen in the Norton Simon Museum, it spoke
to me because I love nature and outdoorsy type activities just like
Theodore Rousseau did although he did have more passion about nature
and landscapes that lead him to pursue his career through his
masterpieces. Although I haven’t really ever taken the time to go and
enjoy a museum this report made me step out of my comfort zone and
really take in all the amazing different art works.

whole experience at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena California
was a very great learning experience for me. I was actually surprised
by all of the different artists, art collections and sculptures in
the museum from Monet, Picasso, and the Asian sculptures. They have a
lot of different types of art including religious art, European art,
modern art and even contemporary art. I also really enjoyed seeing
all of the unique sculptures as I strolled through the sculpture
garden, the sculptures had a lot of detail put into them. It was
really amazing to see. They even had a duck pond and cafe to enjoy
the nature walk.
