Comparative abortion had taken matters into their own

Comparative Politics and AbortionJennifer HernandezPolitical Science 2 – Modern World GovernmentsSection [email protected] Paul Tabakian, Ed.D.?In this world there are various reasons to overseeing or changing the laws. There is always something we want for our people and something we want to ban. Health has been a major concern and our presidents for over 50 years have been trying to do what’s best for the people but it also continues to divide us all in whether cases like abortion should be legal. In 1972, the Supreme Court had ruled in the Roe v. Wade case that abortion was legal and made a scandal. Most who were against abortion had taken matters into their own hands by disrupting the abortion process, blocking clinic entrances, bombing and even murder. This endangered abortion providers. China has come a long way dealing with abortions as well as India. I will be talking about the issues on abortion, using the Most Different Systems method. This work will present the comparative abortion policies in China and in India and also provide how abortion can be stopped or reconsidered so it’s rates can lower down. As abortion happens, women are being exploited. In comparing two countries that are different from each other can be the best way to find great similarities between them. It is peaceful to the mind to know that many places around the world may be enemies yet share the same values as one does. I like findings of similarities amongst those that come from elsewhere and it makes me think that someday maybe we can all unify into one. An advantage to this method of comparison is to find that we are all the same and think like same as well. It focuses on the similarities of different assets on social behavior, history, economics, etc. A disadvantage is the limitation of comparing when there is only a few, in this case two, to compare with each other. The statistical approach to comparing is not quite the best way for me to use because although numbers are important, they change over time and are not reliable to use for me. When referring to China there are many cases that was brought concern to the public eyes. Over the years, they’ve made a policy stating that there are only a number of children allowed per family by 1979. This is how abortion was legal impediment China. Abortion rates were high at the time and went low in the 1990s. They used the term “illegal pregnancy” rather than unplanned pregnancy because of their use of word, unplanned, would refer to a raped woman or forced. The sex ratio and was really outbalanced with boys over numbering girls. Also, this brought limitations to age limits on marriages. Abortion was encouraged throughout time and was made easier to access considering the overpopulation. An education plan was given to young married couples. Marriages were delayed as well as long intervals between births. Policy kept changing up to two children per family. This was not enough for the ended up changing the policy to one child per family, which drastically led to forced abortion. In India, abortion was strongly held more based on health conditions of women. For up to 20 weeks of pregnancy, It was permitted for purposes of diseases, physical and/or mental health that can endanger their life. They’ve also come up with abortion consideration if the baby shows high possibilities of handicap features. Also it is highly considered if the pregnancy was rooted from rape. Abortion was even more enforced at 20 to 24 weeks if the woman decides it if she is married, if she is unmarried and over 18+, if under age with guardians consent, to if the woman is mentally unstable. The Supreme Court rule of abortion legality based on the case of Roe v. Wade has shaped the world. Indias feminists of the women movement sought state policy to regulate abortion. This has been a crazy movement since the 1973 case and I disapprove of it very much. Comparing China and Indias idea of abortion solutions is to deliver a message that murder is being committed every day. There are many cases all over the world on this and it doesn’t stop. What has the American Political System done to improve this situation? There has been feminist movements in India and China that want equality and power over their own bodies. Might restricting abortion cause more regulation toward decision-making in sex roles? And if so, has it then been considered that abortion restrictions may cause inequality in education for women due to their responsibilities as a mother? Putting order to stop abortions from raising its percentage would surely calm the waves of critics toward women. There has been offered many safe birth control methods that do not involve abortion decisions. Some that are considered best are the Contraceptive use, pills, condoms, the patch, an IUD, or most effectively, the implant that consists of a two inch thin tube that is inserted in the woman’s forearm and is a 99.9% effective and reliable product that can last up to 3 years. These are safe ways to prevent pregnancy and keep away from internal damage. Equality can be kept as soon as a good prevention is used so that women can determine their life course. And now there is the assumption that women who will become pregnant and leave the labor force lead to the view of women as marginal workers, and is at the very tip of the discriminatory practices which keep all women in low-paying and dead-end jobs.Places like India has been known for requesting the termination of a pregnancy because of a female result. It mostly has to do with the inheritance of the family and also because it portrays of a strong family and the masculinity of it. Such characters may bring respect for their family which in many cases is a custom. In China, being born a women keeps you from fighting the war and instead it gave you obligations as a future wife and must portray your feminine qualities or else it would be a dishonor for their family name and become unworthy of marriage and will not gain inheritance through the husband.According to judicial laws, a judge should decide whether the young lady is mature enough to make decisions as to have an abortion, or whether it is in her best interests not to involve her parents. This sides for pro-choice from the Judicial branch giving young ladies the choice to have an abortion. Although, it is hardly explained the high risks that a teenager at such an age may encounter. It as well may cost their life. Some medical complications may involve the following: heavy bleeding, infections, sepsis, incomplete abortions, anesthesia, damage to the cervix, scarring, urine perforation, internal organ damage, endometritis, and death. Some emotional complications may be expressed through, depression, eating disorders, relationship problems, guilt, suicidal thoughts, sexual dysfunction, and drug and alcohol abuse. Not to mention, higher risks may be of concern as to having breast cancer, cervical, ovarian and liver cancer, placenta previa, and ectopic pregnancy. Although this is issued in the U.S., it should be discussed all over. Stressing this in the political concerns can give women a chance to reform and gain equal rights to control their own bodies. Men have also exploited women by demanding legal abortions because of their sex role. They are to believe that having women pregnant reduces their role as a sex partner which then raises the rates of high abortion. They exploit women into abortions because they wanted to have sex without any upcoming responsibilities for any future children by getting their women to risk their lives with the performance of dangerous operations to prevent their child from birth. On religious beliefs, it is very well expressed that murdering an unborn child of 20 weeks or more will be a crime due to theirs belief in the First Amendment. Now, there has been an issue on overpopulating because too many women are giving births every 7 seconds world-wide. But also, this can be counter-argued because of the numerous of open adoptions and because murder is wrong. Abortion and disability is another major issue with women. It is morally wrong in every way to decide to abort when knowing that the unborn child with have disabilities. There have been many cases in which this has happened. Many people who have disabilities choose to live if they were in their mothers womb. This brings the question of equality towards those with a disability and of their value in position in society which is completely unfair because they are being discriminated for having such features. An interview I made with an acquaintance says that she had wanted to live if she were to choose for her own life. She stated, “I got luck, I think that my mother heard me and felt just how much I wanted to live that she let me have it.” Her mother at age 14 had been mistreated, and abused by her own mother because she didn’t want to abort her child. She remembers overhearing her mother say that her mother would kick her on the belly and she’d do everything she could to protect her stomach and avoid any serious complications of pregnancy later. “She also mentioned that her mom tried giving her pills to abort but would secretly spit them out in order to protect me,” she said. It is quite a swirl just knowing that many young people have the same or similar thoughts, grateful that their mother decided to give birth instead of having an abortion.
