Thank you Tara for your feedback and questions.  I am hoping to include all staff, who has
direct contact with patients into this intervention.  Currently, Kings County uses CyraCom
interpreting services, which are available 24/7 for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) clients.  We use both over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) and video remote
interpretation (VRI) services for deaf-mute patients.  Also thank you for sharing the article and your
experience with cultural competence.  Inocian
et al. (2015) claimed that it is crucial to have nurses acquire cultural
competence in order to relate to and interact efficiently with their patients, improving
the health and well-being of their patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
